On the weekend of the 14th & 15th of July, we took a trip to Detroit, to watch the
Gold Cup. The Gold Cup is the
oldest active trophy in motorsports. It was 2 beautiful days of hydroplane racing. The boys (Karl included) thought that it was pretty cool. Here is a sampling of pictures of our weekend, that was filled with loud, fast races & even a boat flip!
Here's a picture of the Gold Cup. This year was the 99th running of the race. It was only out in public for a few minutes & then they whisked it off in this very secure metal box, surrounded by guards. It was almost as if the president was in that box!
